A New Creative Hub for South London DJs
South London is getting a new creative space for DJs, producers and musicians, and we’ll be offering our DJ lessons and courses at the new spot when doors open later this month. This will be the first of Pirate’s London locations to feature a dedicated bar and event space, giving local artists in the community a place to hang out and connect. The space will host Pirate’s own AUX events, workshops, and industry panels, while also providing a new home for labels and collectives to run their events.
Pro Gear and Self-Service DJ Studios
The site features two rehearsal studios, a recording studio, and three DJ studios, including Pirate’s biggest ever DJ studio. They've also beefed up the soundproofing, which will be a welcome relief when we're trying to teach beatmatching with someone blasting techno at full volume in the next room.
The DJ booths will feature club-standard equipment as always, perfect if you're a bedroom DJ looking to practice for your first gigs. We'll confirm the exact gear after opening, but it will likely be Pioneer CDJ-3000s or CDJ-2000NXS2s and DJM-900NXS2 mixers.
Where is Pirate Studios Brixton?
The new Pirate Studios site is located right in the heart of the iconic Brixton Village, on the upper level at 404-406 Coldharbour Lane. It’s super easy to get to, just a few minutes walk from Brixton underground and railway stations, passing through Electric Avenue and the market.
When does Pirate Studios Brixton Village open?
The new studios are set to open 30th April 2026, with Pirate hosting an invite-only launch party on Wednesday, April 29th, featuring a full lineup of local DJs. You can fill out the form in their Instagram bio with your details to apply for the guest list. We’ll update the post once the studios are officially open, and booking is live for our beginner DJ lessons in Brixton. All our sessions will be available at the new location, including 1-to-1 DJ lessons, and our 4-week and 8-week DJ courses. Our 12-week group DJ courses will also be available and we're currently offering £70 off the group courses until 1st May, just in time for opening.
